To be paid for your sales, you connect your bank through Stripe. Maram uses Stripe Connect, which handles identity and bank details securely and in line with the rules of your own country.
Where Maram can pay you
Stripe decides which countries a platform can pay practitioners in, and Maram cannot pay outside that list. Maram can currently pay practitioners in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hong Kong SAR China, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Your country is set when your Stripe account is created and cannot be changed afterwards. Choose the country where you hold the bank account you want paid into and where your government ID was issued. Stripe verifies legal residence, so a bank account held elsewhere does not change which country you can select.
Chose the wrong one? Email support@maramlearnai.com. An admin can disconnect your Stripe so you can set it up again.
If your country is not listed, you can apply, be vetted and build your product, but you cannot publish a paid product until Stripe supports payouts there.
Connecting
- In your practitioner area, open Payouts or the payment setup in Settings.
- Select connect and complete Stripe's onboarding: your country, your identity, and your bank account.
- Stripe verifies your details. Once complete, your account is ready to receive money.
You only do this once. Stripe collects what it needs based on where you are.
You are the seller
On Maram you are the merchant of record for your own sales. That means the sale is legally yours, and you are responsible for your own tax in your own country. Maram takes its platform fee and is responsible only for tax on that fee. See How you get paid.
Card payments
Your connected account is set up to accept card payments, which is what lets learners buy from you. If Stripe still needs details from you, finish its onboarding, because an incomplete account cannot take payments.
Manual payouts, on purpose
Your account is set to manual payouts. This is deliberate: your earnings build up in your balance as you sell, and Maram releases them to your bank only after your session is delivered and the payout hold of 3 days clears. This is what lets Maram promise learners that their payment is protected until they are taught.
Where to see it
Your Payouts page shows your connection status and your earnings. To change your bank details, open your Stripe dashboard from there.
Requirement to publish
A completed payout connection is required before you can publish a paid product.
